For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— not from works, so that no one can boast. ~Ephesians 2:8-9 (HCSB)
GRACE - something the Lord freely has given us and continues to give. We were unable to earn our salvation in any way. It was a costly gift bestowed when we earnestly sought Him - one that demanded Jesus' death on our cross in order for our sins to be forgiven.
Despite our failings, Christ still bestows grace upon us. He loves us unconditionally. He pours out His grace.
What are we to do in turn? Let's see what scripture says:
For we who live are always given over to death because of Jesus, so that Jesus’ life may also be revealed in our mortal flesh. So death works in us, but life in you. And since we have the same spirit of faith in keeping with what is written, I believed, therefore I spoke, we also believe, and therefore speak. We know that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and present us with you. Indeed, everything is for your benefit, so that grace, extended through more and more people, may cause thanksgiving to increase to God’s glory. ~2 Corinthians 4:11-15 (HCSB)
Grace isn't something we hoard or hang onto, instead the Lord desires for us to share it with others.
Show grace when the world tells you to get even.
Bestow grace when you've been wronged.
Show grace when you are tempted to be unloving.
How can you show grace to someone today?
